The following page is in no way meant to discredit any candidate or political party.
Nor is it meant as an attempt to change anyone's mind regarding political matters.
This page is only intended to report an actual happening in my life, and to express the lessons gleened from that event.
While the contents may entertain, and cause one to think about political and life choices, they are, in no wise, meant to degrade, or to ingender strife.
Thank you for viewing this page.
At first, all things were going great,
as Mom and Dad watched the first debate;
but Mom's small pup would not be quiet,
but, by herself, would start a riot!
At first she was, but somewhat scary,
of the moderator, and of John Kerry,
but when she saw our president,
my parents found out what noise meant!
For when she saw George W. Bush,
she barked aloud, and would not hush;
until John Kerry began to speak,
her bark stilled not,
but did grow weak.
And just when she'd almost settled down,
then Bush's turn came back around;
Once more began, the great comotion,
as billows from the voistrous ocean.
This tempest, they could not abate,
until they silenced that debate.
Thus, two great men,
they could not hear,
because one doggy,
barked in fear.
Yet, lest 'gainst her, we bare a grudge,
how oft' in like manner,
do humans judge?
We view some triviality,
and cry and clamor endlessly,
until, by reason of outward fault,
true inner worth is brought to naught.
With eyes, as those of God to see,
is that not far, the better part?
Would Man, not far more noble be,
to judge another's merrits by his heart?
For when we judge morality and inner strength,
by outer weaknesses and flaws,
are we no better than the dog,
whose clamor quiets the greater cause?
But, swift, away,
to yonder approaching election day...
and then, take care,
what e'er thy chosen path may be,
judge not alone,
by outward flaws well-known,
neither hear thou only praise that other lips have told,
nor view thou only virtues,
beheld by eyes that see,
rather, as thou wouldst mine for precious gold,
seek thou, the nobler purpose to unfold,
discern from that thou dost behold within,
thus, in so-doing,
shalt thou win,
the far more precious treasure of,
thy fellow man's integrity.
And if it be,
thine eyes fail thee,
so thou canst not see within, then, hark' : : :
yield up thy will,
to higher Power,
to stead thee in election's hour,
let Him, who drew creation's plan...
changed nothingness for sea and land,
direct thy pen,
and guide thy hand,
in poles...
in life...
to make thy mark!
