Politics and Patriotism

In light of our up-coming election, I felt I should add what few proverbs I've composed about America and politics. First, let me say that this is, in no way, a political campaign or endorsement. It is not to praise one candidate or party above another. Rather, it is simply to remind us all that,
"The powers that be are ordained of God."
(See Romans, Chapter 13)

You will not find nearly as many proverbs as the other pages have, because I haven't composed that many yet. However, it's my hope and prayer that these sayings will guide you in your beliefs about government and patriotism.
Whether we are celebrating a patriotic holiday, running for office, voting in an election, or simply praying for our leaders, may we always remember that no power exists without the knowledge of God. It is He who controls the rise and fall of powers. It is he who has kept our country safe and strong. And, it is He who should guide this great nation in every step of Her existance.
Let us exercise our greatest might as Americans, by resting in the sovereignty of All-mighty God. Then, and only then, will we be able to honestly pray,
"God, Bless America."

1. Candidates should pass God's inspection before winning Man's election.

2. Those who run for public office should never skip the private issues.

3. Before running for public office, kneel in private prayer.

4. Those who run for office should stand on principles, and walk in prayer.

5. Vote out of conviction, not convenience.

6. May we represent God as we wish our leaders to represent us.

7. Those who would represent America should first represent God.

8. Our country still stands, because Christians still kneel.

9. Let us kneel in prayer, that our country may stand in peace.

10. Our country is blessed so far, because God is so near.

11. Americans must make a stand, or America will take a fall!

12. Man's amendments must never come before God's commandments.

13. We honor the memory of those who fall in war, when we stand for peace.

14. The best leaders are those who can follow their own example.

15. Our country must stand fast, or She will fall quickly!

16. Never exercise your rights by walking on others.

17. Be not held down by evil, but, uphold what is good.

18. If you can't take the darkness, bring the light.

19. To be a Godly leader, you must follow God's rules.

20. Let us honor our Forefathers, for they honored our Heavenly Father.

21. Those who sit in the seat of rule must stand in the shoes of responsibility.

22. Before we wage war, let us consider war's wages.
